Design is how it works
Design is not the surface. It is the whole thing functioning, at every level, from the first tap to the last screen of the flow.
Sloj, a design studio in Sarajevo
We design how things work, then let the interface step back so the content can speak. Layers, light and one grid, nothing else.
Three recent projects. The only interface on the stage is a caption.

How we work
01
Design is not the surface. It is the whole thing functioning, at every level, from the first tap to the last screen of the flow.
02
Beauty comes from clarity and efficiency. True simplicity is not removing ornament and clutter. It is bringing order to what is complex.
03
A good interface is unobtrusive and deferential. It recedes so that the content, your content, is elevated and easy to read.
04
Distinct functional layers establish order and hierarchy. Translucency gives you a sense of where you are. Motion and parallax give the space life and depth.
05
The whole system is structured and consistent. From the finest typographic adjustments to every icon, a shared grid creates a harmonious relationship between elements.
06
New, but immediately understood. We build on the habits people already have, so a fresh direction feels useful and pleasant from the first minute.

How a project runs
01 · Week 1
We read everything, talk to the people who use the product, and map the complexity before touching it.
02 · Weeks 2 to 3
Flows, hierarchy, the grid. The boring part that makes everything after it simple.
03 · Weeks 4 to 8
Screens and code together, reviewed weekly on real devices, not slides.
04 · Weeks 9 to 10
Ship, watch, adjust. We stay for 30 days after launch.
The system
Type, icons, spacing and layout share an 8 point grid. Turn the grid on in the top bar and scroll the page. Everything lines up.

Why we exist
Bring order to the products people use every day.
We take complex software and give it hierarchy, rhythm and one grid, so the interface disappears and the work remains.
Software that feels calm.
Fewer screens, clearer layers, honest motion. A web where you always know where you are and what just happened.
Twenty products on one shared grid by 2028.
Each one instantly familiar, each one built by the same hands that designed it, each one still in use five years later.
What clients say
“They removed half of our screens and the product got easier to sell. Nobody misses what is gone.”
“The grid was the gift. Two years later our engineers still build on it without asking us anything.”
“Sloj designed the motion and then wrote it. That never happens. The app feels like one thing.”
Studio
Sloj is four people in one room in Sarajevo. We take on a few projects a year and stay with each one from the first sketch to the last release. Strategy, interface, motion and code, done by the same hands.
